Launch from Puerto Rico to Chicago

Welcome to Pommes Frites, the second leg of the crossing. We are taking the boat from its winter hibernation in Puerto Rico all the way to Chicago. In this episode, we are headed to Bermuda with our crew of seven.

The crew to Bermuda includes Captain Mike, Keith, Brian, Guy and Ashley with their kids Skye and Winter.

What are you looking forward to?

Ashley: “Excited to be on a boat again and have the kids experience night sailing.”

Guy: “Nighttime sailing and hopefully a whale break!”

Skye: “Uh…I don’t know.” Well said.

Brian: “Getting out of the everyday and seeing whales and dolphins.”

Keith: {Couldn’t talk because he was at the helm!}

Captain’s Update:

We just left Palmas del Mar, where the boat was for just under five months after our Atlantic Crossing. It took a little while to get it out the mothballs and everything. But, after a thorough check of the rig and systems, plus after the work we put in over the last few weeks, everything’s set up and ready for our second leg.

Leaving Puerto Rico, we’re gonna head north for four days. It’s a beautiful day. It’s a good day to go sailing.

I’m happy.

Season 2: Episode 1

In this episode, aside from our launch and initial thoughts, hear about why crew member Brian keeps coming back and experience some nighttime sailing with Keith and Captain Mike.
